I bought this Sea Can from a guy in Campbell River on Vancouver Island about a year ago now. I moved it up here to Quesnel last June.. I emptied it out on built a 2 x 4 frame inside on 24 inch centers.. Walls and ceiling.. I then insulated it with R14 but I used 2 layers because I had the room [ a 2 x 4 on edge is 3 1/2 inches ] so does that make R28..? I then put up a vapor barrier and then I used 1/2 plywood on the walls and ceiling.. I then painted everything black to make it nice and dark for sleeping.. I lived in it for about 3 months before it got too cold.. I had and Engineering firm [ Octo Engineering ] do an inspection. They said in a nut shell that the structure was ok but the was not enough insulation.. They saw pics of R14 bails and assumed I used 1 layer.. I have the report to show you and I have pics.. There a small wood stove and piping that goes with the place. There are 2 windows 3 foot x 4 foot and a 2 foot by 3 foot in one of the back steel door. I then installed a steel door. I need 10,000 or best offer for the Sea Can as is.. with what I had to pay for the can and shipping to get it here from Vancouver Island and the price I had to pay for materials I am not even close to breaking even..
